What Others Say About My Work ...
I'm not into praising myself. Even though the core reason for this Web site's existence is self-promotion, I don't like to get too caught up in extolling my own virtues. As the saying goes, I'm not going to sprain my shoulder patting myself on the back.

Andrew Mason

But in the days that followed the end of my association with DenverBroncos.com, message boards, my voicemail and my e-mail inbox overflowed with thoughts on my work. The only ones that were even mildly solicited were in response to my final blog posting, but most of the comments below come from other sources.

A small sampling follows below. I hope you find their sentiments to be testament to how I can reach users, readers and viewers for you with my work.

"The only thing worth reading (apart from the archives) at DenverBroncos.com was Andrew Mason's blogs. I especially LOVED the game-day blog he wrote during each game. Living on the east coast, I never get to actually go to a game, let alone hear it at the sports bar. Every single game, I would go home and read the blog to get all the info that I missed, plus a great "feel" for the game by someone who was there. This was priceless to me! His insights will also be surely missed. I don't think I missed a blog of his since he's been there."
"Andrew, this (http://blog.denverbroncos.com/mason) is the only place I ever post messages about my beloved Broncos because of the type of environment you managed to create. Your reporting and in-depth coverage will be missed greatly. This year I really became a fan and when I couldn't watch the preseason games, I would turn to your up-to-date blog to see what was going down in Bronco Town."
"Cheers to you for all your hard work; you've created an awesome Bronco family from all around the world here on the web. As others have said, please let us know if you start up again elsewhere blogging about our Broncos; you'll have a reader in me!"
"Please know that you have created not only a successful NFL team web presence, but also a huge community of personal fans that will follow you on into your next endeavor."
"Maybe Andrew Mason never contributed to a victory on the field. Maybe he never made a difference in the final score. Maybe there's not a single Broncos player, coach, or employee who will miss him (and we doubt that's the case). But Mase was a direct link between the fans and the team in a way that felt -- to the thousands of NFL fans who frequented his blog on a daily basis, whether for news, rare insight on team operations, or simply because they enjoyed his easygoing, friendly take on what he saw happening with his favorite team -- like they had a friend in the front office."
"Mason was always professional and gave us information that we wouldn't have been able to find anywhere else."
"I always enjoyed what you did and you're one of the reasons why the Broncos blogging community is where it's at. I'm very sorry to hear this news and it does truly sadden my heart. I hope you still stop by and chat, and I hope you always find a heart to come and talk Broncos with us on the other blogs."
"It'd be cool as anything to see him land up replacing Woody Paige (at The Denver Post). Please, someone make this happen."
"I believe The Denver Post should make you their official Denver Broncos beat writer. It makes too much sense. You are connected to the team, they need a good writer, and the fact that you use facts and can write an actual story seals the deal."
"I am hoping one of the Denver news outlets will take you on so that you can continue to provide all Denver sports fans the great coverage you have become renowned for."
"Note to Denver Post editors:

"Please return some respectability to your Broncos section and hire Andrew Mason, he will be able to bring the same inside knowledge and respectability that Adam Schefter had when he was here."

"I'd be anywhere lately with my iPod touch's internet, I'd be in a hotel with wi-fi so I could get on, and one of the first things I'd always check was your blog, no matter where I was. It was great to have you reporting."
"Mason, you were seriously the one bright spot in the organization. You were our link to our favorite NFL team. We felt like you were our man on the inside."
"Thanks for everything, Mason. Couldn't have asked for a better friend to us Broncos fans."
"Some of the best wasted time at my job was spent on your blogs arguing with my fellow Broncos fans."
"Honestly, I'm really going to miss his stuff and the correspondence we've had in the past about Broncos news and blogging. In the past, I've always applauded the Broncos for their embracing position of blogging in general. Andrew Mason was particularly gracious to fan blogs like ours, even linking to sites like BroncoTalk and Mile High Report in the Mason's Morsels blogroll."
"I am from Hungary (about eight hours ahead of the Denver time zone) and I could only follow a lot of games through your blog. I will terribly miss those coverages and your inside news on the other days!"
"I had a lot of personal respect for Mason; I've been following him for several years now, and he's had a great influence in how I follow the game and his tidbits gave great insight into parts of the game that is hard to see through the regular media."
"What Mason added to this community of fans (especially those who don't get to see every Denver game on the TV or in-person) was brilliant insight and commentary."
"I found your commentary unparalleled in its insight and detail -- I haven't seen any other team that offers that kind of coverage."
"Oh my gosh. Mason is gone; he was unbelievably skilled and informative. What a sad day."
"The fact is Mason was VERY productive and did one hell of a job for the Broncos running (the) site."
"Andrew gave us hardcore Bronco fans (who don't live in Denver) all the details of training camp and practice we so desperately need."
"I've gone onto other team's Web sites in the past to see what might be going on with them, and I can honestly say the Broncos Web site is the best."
"You could tell he really put a lot of effort in making that site as informative as possible within the bounds of being an "official" site. Check out some of the other official sites and you'll quickly see that DenverBroncos.com is one of the better ones -- thanks in no small part to Andrew Mason."
"Mason, you are a saint, after all you've done for the Broncos and their fans."
"You have always presented great information in a timely fashion, and the work you do during the season -- especially on game day -- was always of the highest quality. That despite the fact you usually had five projects going on at the same time on game days. What's more, you made (the blog) a place where all Broncos fans felt welcome to express their feelings on any subject, and to have fun doing it. I know most of us on these boards feel we are losing a close friend, but we wish you the best of luck wherever you end up."
"Mason is one of the hardest-working people I have ever come across. He wasn't a nine-to-five kind of guy. He lived for his job and his duties consumed him, often keeping him busy until the wee hours of the morning. Loyal readers of his blog couldn't help but notice the frequent late-night postings.

"He is much more than just a guy who was willing to burn the midnight oil, however. Mason is also extremely talented. He helped turn the team's web site into one of the best in pro sports, spearheading innovations such as Broncos TV, pre-draft coverage and much more. What fans see when they visit the Broncos online today is vastly different than what it was when Mason joined the team six years ago, a testament to his impact.

But Mason's greatest strength is his passion for the sport. He absolutely loves football, and it comes through in his work. Given the fact that he was such a tremendous student of the game, Mason was a frequent guest on our afternoon radio show. His insights into the sport were keen and astute. He never disappointed, always bringing his A-game to the airwaves."
